Bull. A USB cable is a USB cable. The above statement is completely absurd, not to mention unprovable. It's akin to Monster selling HDMI cables at 500% markup. And USB cables are remarkably less complicated than HDMI cables.
Do yourself a favor and buy a reasonably priced replacement cable (they can be found on here for less than a dollar--check out this one for example) and leave this 'professional grade' cable alone. Don't waste your money on over priced wiring.

When I received these cables, they were more the color of orange/brown baby food. Luckily these cables are not being seen by anyone but me (as they are in my entertainment cabinet).
I checked the package to see if I was sent the wrong product, but the package says orange. Maybe the person who picked this color orange should get their eyes checked...

Unfortunately my application is in a high noise environment and I was searching for cables that are shielded when I came across this one. I guess I'm out the money I paid for this thing since it would cost as much as the purchase price to return it.

I went in, removed the regular old cable wall plate and screwed this new one right onto the cable in our wall. Then I used a screw driver to put it up on the wall with the 2 color screws that came with it. It was real easy and now I watch TV while I'm on the Internet (like right now). The picture is perfect and the best part was I didn't have to buy a cable to connect this splitter to the wall. It's ON the wall. I'm going to give one to my folks.

It worked for me, but the seller I bought it from wound it poorly and it took me a long time to fix the error. Be careful of buying cables that are twisted -- they can get pinched in the process of unwinding them. There is a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to spool cable or wind it up (even just using your arm) and you need to know the difference between the two if you are intending on not damaging your cable.
The long and short:
The cable was long, and worked.
The short: Buyer beware.
