Even taking into account the cost to be shipped to me, It is half what than the price a local retailer wanted ( Micro center )for a cat5e 50ft . It is like buying a Porsche for 1/2 the price of a VW . Cannot beat the deal on this. I asked the seller why the cost so low. The seller replied they are on clearance for below cost to sell them out quickly.
Their loss my gain.

(More customer reviews)I bought this D-Link modem/wireless router to replace a Speedstream 5360 modem and a Linksys wireless router. It works MUCH better than the other system I was using. This system has been very stable--no more random disconnects from the internet or continual problems with the wireless system that I was experiencing previously. The D-Link wireless router has a much stronger signal than the Linksys it replaced. My D-Link system is in a building next to my house (about 20 feet away) and I can recieve signals anywhere in the house on a laptop with no problem at all--the Linksys was only usable in one room. The set up was easy and I like the combination modem/router--does not clutter up the desk. D-Link has created a good prodcut for my application.

D-Link DCM-201 USB/Ethernet Cable Modem, DOCSIS 1.1 Certification Review

(More customer reviews)I used to have a cable modem that was provided by my cable company but I didn't want to pay the monthly lease fee anymore so I went out and bought this D-Link Cable Modem. I wasn't sure what all I had to do to get it to work, but when I asked a more computer knowledgable friend he said I just needed to plug it in and it will automatically configure itself.
So that's all I did. I called my cable company and told them I'd be switching modems, they wanted some long number off the back of the modem and said I was all set to go. So I plugged in the coax cable on the modem and plugged in the power. Within the next 10 seconds I was connected tot he Internet again.
Very easy.
