Cat6 Shielded 2 Meter / 6 Feet Patch Orange Cable Rj45 Male to Rj45 Male for Networking Review

These cables were a good price and a decent cable. I would've given 5 stars, but when the description says that the cable is orange... I expect the cable to be orange. When I received these cables, they were more the color of orange/brown baby food. Luckily these cables are not being seen by anyone but me (as they are in my entertainment cabinet).
I checked the package to see if I was sent the wrong product, but the package says orange. Maybe the person who picked this color orange should get their eyes checked...

Cables Unlimited Snagless UTP-6700-14R Molded Boot Cat6 Patch Cable (14 feet, Red) Review

Since the product was advertised as a "snagless" patch cable I was hoping that it would be much more flexible to use with a laptop that would be moved around. The cable stills snags with other cables and is relative stiff like a normal fixed ethernet cable.

APC PNET1GB ProtectNet Standalone Surge Protector for 10/100/1000 Base - T Ethernet Lines Review

APC PNET1GB ProtectNet Standalone Surge Protector for 10/100/1000 Base - T Ethernet Lines
Average Reviews:

In my case, my client had lightning strike and lost a CableModem, Router ans Switch, so the first Protectnet was installed when everything was reinstalled. After a year and half some builidng constructions in the area forced the relocation of the ISP cable from the street pole to the building and someone make a mistake... a windy afternoon and the cable fly up and touched live electricity lines and then the poor cablemodem was a christmas tree full of light inside, this time the PROTECTNET didnt let the problem scale further (some believe this time it could have reached the workstations, but definitively could hve reached the server and destroy the precious data), story short, the Protectnet was left unrecognizable by his mother, but was the only expense for the client (cablemodem is ISP provided); and now we ordered 2! :D

Yup... They connect my cable modem to my router, and my router to my computers. They transmit data back and forth. So far they have failed to burst into flames or snap off and poke me in the eye. So go patch cables (yay).

Cat5E UTP Cable with Crimping tool and connectors for DSL, LAN, Modem, Networking (100 meters) Review

Cat5E UTP Cable with Crimping tool and connectors for DSL, LAN, Modem, Networking (100 meters)

For the price paid, this is a great deal. The CAT 5 wire itself is ok and you get 300 feet included so it's a fair amount of wire, at least for our small office. I'm impressed with the quality of the crimping tool that came within the package. I was expecting some cheap thing that would break if you put too much pressure crimping the plug ends. This is a good quality crimping tool that should sell for $15-20 by itself - so I consider that a real bonus. Just be sure to add more RJ45 Plugs as 10 that comes with doesn't go far - i.e. makes 5 cables providing you do screw up. The Belkin 50 pack is a good deal. Then, if you've never done this before, watch youtube video showing how it's done and be sure the wire colors match on both ends and ends are cut straight and pushed all the way in BEFORE crimping. Once you know how it's very easy. Like anything it's the first one that the hardest. . .

Cables to Go 37133 2-Port RJ45 Splitter/Combiner Cable, Gray 6-Inch (Single Unit*) Review

Cables to Go 37133 2-Port RJ45 Splitter/Combiner Cable, Gray 6-Inch (Single Unit*)
Average Reviews:

I'm thinking the people rating this poorly don't understand how to use it. It WON'T split a single Ethernet CONNECTION into two. It WILL enable a single Ethernet CABLE (which has 8 wires) to carry two connections (which require 4 wires each). This is helpful in places where you have a single cable running from your router (typically in a wiring closet) to two devices, and can't easily run a second cable -- i.e., where one cable is already installed in the walls.
Here's how you use it: Run Ethernet cables from 2 ports of your router into the female jacks of the first splitter. Plug the male end of that splitter into the jack in your wiring closet that runs to the part of your house you want. Plug the male end of the second splitter into the Ethernet jack at the other end of that cable run (i.e., in the room where the devices are located). Run Ethernet cables from the female jacks of the second splitter to the devices.
If you want to use a single Ethernet connection for two devices, these splitters won't work; you need a router that shares the connection among the devices.
