After getting my first HDTV, I was dismayed that my signal was too low to maintain a constant picture (even on non-HD channels). Having multiple devices requiring a cable signal, I needed to amplify as well as split my incoming signal. This splitter/amplifier did the trick! Very high quality item. Solidly built. Everyone should buy this thing!

8-Port Bi-Directional Cable TV HDTV Amplifier Splitter Signal Booster with Passive Return Path Review

I have a new house with very long cable runs. When they built the house they ran a seperate cable to each room, instead of splitting them upstairs in the attic. I had an issue with the digital cable and the modem loosing signal and picture freezing before I purchased this item. It took about 5 minutes to install the amp and all picture issues are gone. Before I could not have the signal split into more than 3 lines before experiencing picture issues. I now have 7 lines running out of the amp without issue, including the cable modem. Great product, and you can not beat the price.

NETGEAR DG834G Wireless-G Router with Built-in DSL Modem Review

NETGEAR DG834G Wireless-G Router with Built-in DSL Modem
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is a real masterpiece. Loaded with features, elegant package and very easy to use.
I just got it, plugged it and logged on to the web administration. First thing I did was applying the latest firmware which was a very smooth operation that took less than 5 minutes, then it suggested it should figure out automatically my ADSL connection and I clicked yes, but it took forever so I cancelled and entered the configuration manually. Unlike some other routers, it doesn't require a router reboot to apply new settings which is a very good plus. I was up and running in very few minutes. Then I started exploring the features and found a whole lot of them.
The wireless AP can be set to support b, g or b and g (default setting), the only drawback is that you must select a channel manually. I believe it should be better to hop to the clearest channel automatically.
Other features contain extensive network logging with flags to enable/disable logging certain events such as DoS attacks or attempted access to blocked sites. Advanced website blocking which eliminates the need for a proxy server, you can activate it per schedule or all the time or disable it. You can also exclude some trusted clients from the blocking. Firewall is also a nice feature and can also be scheduled, turned on or off all the time. You can also email the logs to a certain address. The drawback here is that u need an SMTP server, I believe the router should've had its own.
You can also dignose the router and the LAN and WAN through the diagnostics page, set static routes, enable remote management of the router through the WAN, and my all times favourite service : the router has a built-in DynDNS client if u have a dynamic IP and u wish to have a fixed hostname ! Finally you can backup and restore your settings so u don't have to go through all settings again in case u had to reset ur router !
Truly, I believe this is worth the money I paid for and the few drawbacks I mentioned are no big deal at all, and the pros outweigth them by far. If you want to save your money, save your desktop space and have a 5-in-1 device for all your needs (ADSL modem, advanced router, ethernet switch, wireless access point and a firewall) then go for it ! I'm glad I bought it !

The NETGEAR DG834G Wireless-G Router with Built-in DSL Modem is an all-in-one solution for anyone with a DSL internet connection who wants a Wireless-G router. By combining a high-performing router and modem into a single device, you save space, the hassle of extra cords, and the costs of leasing a router from your DSL service provider.
Replace Your Old DSL Modem This modem and router replaces existing equipment provided by DSL service providers. It is fully compatible with Verizon, AT&T, Qwest, Earthlink, and other DSL Internet service providers. With the NETGEAR DG834G, you have the freedom to switch DSL providers without having to change equipment, and you don't have to waste money by paying a monthly leasing fee.
Elegant Design and Easy Setup The DG834G is an attractive unit, about the size of a small paperback, with a silver exterior and rounded edges. An included plastic stand lets you stand the router on its edge to take up less space.
The DG834G makes it easy for even a novice to set up a wireless network. Just connect the DSL line, run the Smart Wizard with step-by-step instructions, and you're all set. Once your network is set up, the router's "Push 'N' Connect" feature takes over.
To connect a new device on your network, you simply push a button on the router, and your device is automatically and securely configured and connected to your wireless network. This means that the days of having to remember complicated security keys and passwords are over. (This feature is for use with other Push 'N' Connect or WPS enabled devices.)
Fast and Secure Performance Wireless G offers data speeds of up to 54 Mbps, making it possible to share a broadband Internet connection, stream music without hiccups, watch videos with less load time, and videoconference without delays. If you still run computers that use the 802.11b standard, don't fret: the router is backwards compatible with the older wireless standard.
In addition to providing wireless access, the device also includes four 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet ports in the back for connecting computers to the network via a faster, wired connection.
The DG834G offers many security options to ensure your data is private. Double firewall protection keeps your network shielded from outside attacks. To ensure the security of your wireless data, both 40/64-bit, 128-bit, and 152-bit (802.11g only) WEP encryption is available, as well as WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). You can also use MAC address authentication to allow only authorized users onto the network.
Smart and Green Design The router has an elegant and clean design with several environmentally sensitive features. An on/off switch lets you turn off the router when it's not in use. Energy Star compliant, the DG834G is stingy in its power use, and with packaging that's made of 80-percent recycled materials, it's as green as it gets.
The NETGEAR DG834G Wireless-G Router with Built-in DSL Modem measures 6.9 x 1.1 x 4.7 inches (WxHxD) and is backed by a 1-year warranty.

Cat5E UTP Cable with Crimping tool and connectors for DSL, LAN, Modem, Networking (100 meters) Review

Cat5E UTP Cable with Crimping tool and connectors for DSL, LAN, Modem, Networking (100 meters)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
For the price paid, this is a great deal. The CAT 5 wire itself is ok and you get 300 feet included so it's a fair amount of wire, at least for our small office. I'm impressed with the quality of the crimping tool that came within the package. I was expecting some cheap thing that would break if you put too much pressure crimping the plug ends. This is a good quality crimping tool that should sell for $15-20 by itself - so I consider that a real bonus. Just be sure to add more RJ45 Plugs as 10 that comes with doesn't go far - i.e. makes 5 cables providing you do screw up. The Belkin 50 pack is a good deal. Then, if you've never done this before, watch youtube video showing how it's done and be sure the wire colors match on both ends and ends are cut straight and pushed all the way in BEFORE crimping. Once you know how it's very easy. Like anything it's the first one that the hardest. . .

Netgear WGR614 Wireless-G Router Review

Netgear WGR614 Wireless-G Router
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Do NOT purchase this router. I have been a happy Netgear customer in the past, and am technical enough to keep both home and small office wireless networks running fine, but this model has a hardware problem that Netgear tech support has finally acknowledged, but for which they are not providing an adequate fix. As others have mentioned, the router will often drop connectivity, and rebooting is the only solution. I bought one, had these problems start (luckily within the 90 day tech support window), and returned the router to Netgear (at my expense) in exchange for another one, which demonstrated the SAME problem less than 24 hours after installation. After yet another long call to India the latest tech support rep acknowledged that lots of these models are having the same problem, and upgrading to the latest firmware (which I did immediately upon installing both of these routers) won't fix it, so her solution was... send this one back (AGAIN at my expense) and they would send me yet another one of the SAME model, which she (for no defensible reason) assures me will work. For more background please see the Netgear tech support forums, where you will see scores of people experiencing the same problem and the same non-solution from Netgear. Save yourself the trouble and buy a different wireless router.

The NETGEAR WGR614 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Router lets you easily set up a wireless network in your home so you can share a single internet connection with everyone in your household or office at speeds up to 54 Mbps.
Beautiful Design and Easy Setup The WGR614 is a very attractive unit about the size of a small paperback with a silver exterior and rounded edges. An included plastic stand lets you stand the router on its edge to take up less space.
The WGR614 makes it easy for even a novice to set up a wireless network: just plug the included Ethernet cable from your internet connection into the router and insert the included CD into any computer on the network, which will provide step-by-step instructions. The WGR614 employs a web-based interface for configuration, and the router will automatically do the initial setup by getting your DNS settings and determining your IP address. The firmware is also upgradeable via the web interface so you can be sure your router will always be up-to-date.
Fast and Secure Supporting the 802.11g standard, the NETGEAR WGR614 offers wireless data speeds of up to 54 Mbps, making it possible to share a broadband internet connection, stream music without hiccups, watch videos with less load time, and videoconference without problems. Downloading files is up to five times faster than it was with 802.11b. If you still have computers that use 802.11b, don't fret as the router is backwards compatible with the older wireless standard and can be set so all your computers can connect to the network and the WGR614 will automatically figure out the connection type and work accordingly.
In addition to wireless access, there are four 10/100 Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet ports in the back for connecting computers to the network via a faster, wired connection.
The WGR614 offers many security options to ensure your data is private. Double firewall protection keeps your network shielded from outside attacks. Keep Tabs on Kids This router is an especially good choice for parents as it allows settings to log all sites that are visited, lets you block specific sites based on whether it contains specific keywords, and lets you set time schedules for certain computers to work.
The NETGEAR WGR614 54 Mbps 802.11g Wireless Router is backed by a 1-year warranty.

PCT 1-PORT BI-DIRECTIONAL CABLE TV HDTV AMPLIFIER SIGNAL BOOSTER WITH PASSIVE RETURN PATH Review

PCT 1-PORT BI-DIRECTIONAL CABLE TV HDTV AMPLIFIER SIGNAL BOOSTER WITH PASSIVE RETURN PATH
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This Drop Amp works great! I have a two story home with a several TV's at the far end of the house that never had clear pictures. They have always been grainy and just never looked right. Well after talking with the cable company they told me they could come out and put an amp on the cable to boost the signal and it would cost me a service fee plus the cost of the amp which would be a total of $150 bucks. I would have thought they should have fixed it for nothing. Luckily I talked with a friend of mine who had once worked for a cable company and he told me that I could get an amp myself and recommended one of these. So I bought one and installed it myself! It took maybe ten minutes to get this thing up and running! I also found "thanks to the cable company" they had extra splitters in my cable run in the attic that was not needed "this will also degrade your signal". Now my TVs have clear pictures and look great all for $35 bucks!

NETGEAR DGN2000 Wireless-N Router with Built-in DSL Modem Review

NETGEAR DGN2000 Wireless-N Router with Built-in DSL Modem
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The DGN2000 replaced my old Linksys router, a Speedstream DSL modem and an older Netgear wireless router. I have 9 devices networked together in my home. 5 computers are wired to the router via gigabit and 10/100 switches. The DGN2000 worked fine for these devices. The modem and wired router worked. The problem was with the wireless functionality. After following the wizard to set up the first wireless device, it worked briefly. However, when I tried connecting a second computer, it would lose the connection. The DN2000 would work briefly, but only if 1 computer was connected. If the computer went to sleep, the connection would be lost upon wake-up. Most of the time it switched from Access Point mode to Ad-Hoc mode and my wireless computers could not connect. I spoke with several Netgear tech support agents and they had me try different channels and security settings. The Netgear agent told me to contact my vendor and ask for a replacement. First, I checked Amazon.com's return policy and noticed that the vendor was actually ANTOnline.com. ANTOnline's policy was that they didn't support the product and that I was to deal directly with the manufacturer. I contacted Netgear again and explained the situation, so they agreed to give me an RMA to replace the DGN2000.
The replacement arrived a few days later (after having to pay an expedited shipping charge). The second DGN2000 seemed to work a little better than the first, but it still lost the wireless connection. At least this one worked briefly with 2 computers and an iPod Touch. However, within an hour it would switch to Ad-Hoc mode. Again, after dealing with several tech support reps (including the 2nd tier), they decided to give me another RMA and send a third unit. At least this time, they didn't charge me for shipping.
The third unit arrived - same problem. By this time, I was ready to give up on the DGN2000. It was clear this was a poorly designed product. If 3 are bad, it's highly likely the 4th is going to be bad. I checked Netgear's online forum and found several threads discussing problems with the DGN2000. This one about switching from Access Point to Ad-Hoc was exactly the same problem I was experiencing.
[...]
It's strange that all of Netgear's tech support agents acted like they'd never heard of this problem, when clearly many people were dealing with it.
Anyhow, I just wanted my money back so I could purchase a different product. I contacted ANTOnline and asked for a refund and they refused because more than 30 days had passed since purchasing the original product (it had been something like 33 days). Since many of these days included shipping to and from Netgear, the 30 day policy didn't seem fair. I tried getting a refund from Netgear, but they don't provide refunds and were only willing to send me another poorly designed DGN2000. I tried Amazon.com's A-to-Z Guarantee and they wouldn't help because they decided that ANTOnline's written policy was clear and fair.
So after spending over [...] and much time and hassle, I still didn't have a product that worked for my wireless networked devices.
Finally, after complaining to Netgear, they agreed to replace the DGN2000 with the next step up - DGND3300-100NAS. The DGND3300 is working fine. So at least in the end, Netgear was willing to help me out. However, I would not recommend buying the DGN2000. And for ANTOnline's support and return policy, I won't ever buy something from them again.

I use RCN broadband and this modem is rock solid. It has never locked up on me, and does not require frequent reboots. About once a month or so I'll cycle the power on it just because my cable provider says to do so. But I have absolutely no complaints about the modem itself. I've had it for 2 years, and never had any troubles with it.
The highest speed I've gotten from my connection using this modem is 755kb/5500kb

RJ45 CAT 5 6 LAN Ethernet Splitter Connector Adapter PC Review

RJ45 CAT 5 6 LAN Ethernet Splitter Connector Adapter PC
Average Reviews:

Does what it's supposed to do which is split the signal. I bought it knowing I could only use the internet on one device at a time, but thought I could have both devices on at the same time. This is not true. I have it hooked up to my Mac and my Xbox 360. If either one is on, the other must be off for the internet to work. This is frustrating and inconvenient but much cheaper than a router so I'm fine with the situation. You should know that before you purchase.

If you only knew the troubles I had with the E3000 and E4000, even trying the better firmware versions offered by DD-WRT. Constant lock up's and disconnects. I was about to throw in the towel with Linksys. Then, I tried the E3200. Easy setup, the Access Controls MAKE SENSE for the first time in Linksys history, and it handles a very heavy workload of video streaming and data. We saturate our 60meg internet connection from many different sources and NO PROBLEMS. Range is great. FINALLY, I'm willing to give Linksys a thumbs up (FOR NOW) on this router. Best available.
