(More customer reviews)This amp helped my tv reception and made my modem work faster. The TV stopped pix elating on the weaker TV channels. It also increased the power levels for the modem so the noise to power ratio levels were better and it didn't drop the internet any more.
I am running 6 Comcast cable on demand boxes, and one cable modem (a SB5100 modem)
I am happy with this product and will be buying another one to help one of my friends system out.

(More customer reviews)I was inmpressed with the adapter till I connected it to my laptop. I installed the driver and the device worked right away. Then I wasn't impressed at all. The signal strength was very LOW and my connection was poor. I was only 20 feet away from my wireless router. I even tried moving the devices to gain teh signal strength but nothing worked. I turned off this device and turn on the internal laptop WIFI. The signal strenght was HIGH and my connection was excellent. I went back to the GSI adapter and the signal strenght did not improve. My connection never did get better than LOW. I am returning this adapter am may try a different one. Not impressed at all. Even updated the drivers from their website. Nothing work and my skill level is very advanced. My career is networking and I have an extensive background in RF as well.

The good news; I use it to connect my Tivo (Tivo needs to dial in every night to update its program data) and it was the perfect solution for a tough spot, since there's no phone jack anywhere near my television. I have also used it to surf the web with a dial-up connection, with no real problems. Its fine, even through an extension cord! The bad news; I've tried to use for a phone, and that rally didn't cut it. It worked, but its a bad connection. I couldn't tolerate it. So I dispute the earlier comment that it can't be used for data. For me, its only use is for data, not voice! For certain situations, its ideal.

The RCA RC920 wireless phone jack extension is an accessory to the RCA RC926 wireless phone jack, the GE926, and the D916. This compact extension unit converts your existing electrical outlet into a phone jack, without the need for tools or wiring.
If you have already installed a compatible wireless phone jack system in your home or office, simply plug in the RC920 extension into your wall outlet to automatically create another phone jack. (More customer reviews)I purchased this item after recently purchasing the Alfa, also offered by this seller on Amazon. (USB 500mW WiFI Adapter for Wardriving & Range Extension *Strongest on the Market* $51.99)
I liked the Alfa but this one had a bigger antenna and was cheaper and looked almost identical to my Alfa so I decided to give it a try. I'm not loving it. The setup was much more difficult and I couldn't get it working on my desktop running XP at all. The Alfa plugged right in and runs like a dream on it. Also, I actually get worse reception with the big antenna than I do with the small one.
All and all, I would recommend the Alfa over this one for ease of installation (installed on XP with no additional work and installed on Vista with driver from website pretty easily). Also the Alfa seems to more consistently maintain the signal and I got more bars with it then I am getting with this GSky.
Spend the extra few dollars and go with the Alfa. (By the way, I am a SAH mom, not a computer geek, so keep that in mind when I talk of ease of install and setup.)

(More customer reviews)I hardly ever write reviews (like someone else said) but wow, what a piece of crap this is! DO NOT BUY THIS! The setup is easy but this router is junk. It will just stop working for no reason. I don't know if it is overheating or what. I have even tried flipping it over so the vents are facing up. It will just stop working once is a while. By once is a while I mean around 1-3 times a day. Sometimes I have to manually reset(unplug - the reset button doesn't always do it.). Other times it takes a few minutes to start working again. I had a $30 Belkin before and it lasted 2 years with no problems until the end. Once I find a good replacement I'm going to pull an Office Space on this thing.
