For some reason I was thinking for $19.95 that this would be a top grade cable with plush connectors at the ends. It wasn't. It was just an ordinary Cat5 cable; nothing special. Aside from that, I am using it and happy to have one in the shorter length.

(More customer reviews)I agree with most reviewers, high quality cable with solid plugs. Wanted to connect my modem to my new D-Link Ethernet switch, (that sit side by side) and the shortest cable I had was 6ft. Saw this 1ft cable, for next to nothing, ordered it and it was here in a soft pack in my mailbox in seven days. Total cost $3.03. I'll take that.
FYI, I read some complaints about it not being actually one foot in length, so I measured, it is 10 inches, not including the plugs.
If you want a close connect ethernet cable, this is your boy.

My previous cable became wrinkled and twisted after only a few uses, but this cable has kept a strong shape and lets my xbox play online so well, its hard to believe I'm sending that data over the cable. Very much worth the money and, for me, a perfect alternative to wifi gaming.

(More customer reviews)For the price paid, this is a great deal. The CAT 5 wire itself is ok and you get 300 feet included so it's a fair amount of wire, at least for our small office. I'm impressed with the quality of the crimping tool that came within the package. I was expecting some cheap thing that would break if you put too much pressure crimping the plug ends. This is a good quality crimping tool that should sell for $15-20 by itself - so I consider that a real bonus. Just be sure to add more RJ45 Plugs as 10 that comes with doesn't go far - i.e. makes 5 cables providing you do screw up. The Belkin 50 pack is a good deal. Then, if you've never done this before, watch youtube video showing how it's done and be sure the wire colors match on both ends and ends are cut straight and pushed all the way in BEFORE crimping. Once you know how it's very easy. Like anything it's the first one that the hardest. . .
