(More customer reviews)The first problem I encountered with this came right after I took it out of the box.
Both connectors were covered by labels, which left a bunch of sticky residue when I tried to pull them off. I spent about an hour just trying to get them clean enough to use.
Second problem came when I popped in the "software" disc. It turned out to be nothing more than a readme file linking me to drivers that didn't even work. I spent another 20-30 minutes searching the net for drivers that worked.
The cable itself worked fine after I managed to clean the connectors off, find the appropriate drivers, and download Windows Media Player. Be aware, if you have a Chocolate with V5 firmware, you won't be able to use programs like BitPim with this cable.

(More customer reviews)Who buys a cable that says it doesn't come with drivers or software, then complains that it doesn't have drivers? I bought this cable because I didn't need the ridiculously priced software bundles they sell for $30 or $40 elsewhere.
I used this cable to successfully connect my LG VX9000 to my computer running Windows XP and my laptop running Ubuntu 6.06 (GNU/Linux).
I was actually surprised when I opened the box and found a small disk of drivers was included with the cable. I didn't really need it, as I had been able to find the right drivers with a bit of searching, and used BitPim (excellent open source software, which is easily found in a search engine). Using that, I was able to access the calendar, contacts, message history, wallpaper, and ringtones (including creating new ones).
However, don't buy this cable if you're looking for a quick and easy solution; buy one of the bundles with self-installing drivers. It took a little work (about 15-30 minutes) to get the cable to operate on each of my systems. On the other hand, if you prefer doing a little extra work in order to save a few bucks, this is the option for you.

(More customer reviews)At first, I wasn't sure if I liked this little antenna or not. There isn't much to it... it's got a connector, a cord, a magnetic base (which is pretty strong by the way) and of course the antenna itself. It didn't seem to give me much of an improvement until I learned how to pick the correct location for it...
The biggest benefit of having one of these is flexibility of placement. With antennas, correct placement is crucial. I bought two: one for my desktop PC and one for my router. These antennas aren't necessarily any more sensitive than the little plastic ones that come with wifi cards and access points, but being able to move the antenna location from behind the PC on the floor (which is where most people with wireless cards have their antennas) to the top of your desk or on top of your monitor makes a big difference right away.
Now, if you are really serious about getting the best performance out of this antenna, I would suggest you download a program called NetStumbler. It will let you see the S/N ratio in dBm and it updates in real-time. This lets you get perfect placement with your antenna. You'd be amazed what a difference an inch to the left or right can make. I have a feeling a lot of people who have problems with aftermarket wifi antennas are not placing them properly.
For $5.54 each plus a couple bucks for shipping, this antenna can't be beat.

(More customer reviews)The cable fit my LG Vu CU920 perfectly and Windows Vista automatically installed the drivers without a CD. The phone then showed as a hard drive in Windows Vista. You can NOT use the cable to sync data with Microsoft Outlook. I also installed BitPim (for LG Vu, set Phone Type to "LG-VX8700") and was able to access the phones file system and to disable an annoying security nag every time a 3rd party java application is run on the phone. The cable comes with a CD, but it seems to only be for the "choclate".
