NETGEAR 3G Mobile Broadband Router (Black) Review

This replaces an older Netgear wireless router at my house. The setup was easy and worked the first try. It identified and connected to my Verizon usb727 mobile broadband card without problem. Now all my equipment has internet access.
Note that the included usb cable seems to be required for the broadband card to work. Plugging the card directly into the router powered the card, but the router reported that no usb device was plugged in.

The NETGEAR 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless Router gives you freedom to roam and still remain connected to the Internet. Even better, you can share your wireless 3G broadband connection with others, making it a great alternative to DSL and cable and eliminating the need for multiple 3G subscriptions. The 3G Mobile Broadband Wireless Router, an activated 3G USB modem, and a broadband data plan are all you need to create instant WiFi hotspots at events, campsites, home offices, construction sites and most other remote locations.

I was able to get pure 300 mbps from this router. It has a USB port where you can plug in your 3G or 4G USB modem then share your wireless internet with other computers in your network. If you have DSL, Cable or FIOS you can use your 3G, 4G or WiMAX internet service as a backup. I have tested with my 3G USB modem. As soon as I disconnected my FIOS internet router automatically switched internet service to 3G within seconds. You can also uplink to another wireless router via WiFi if you don't want to run cable so it works as a repeater. Basically you can extend your wireless without running any cable. This device is amazing with it's multifunction unique features and the price is very cheap.
