(More customer reviews)For Christmas, one of the gifts I presented to my wife was a new laptop computer. She loved it, however, after a few days she starting complaining that she really needed access to the internet via her laptop, especially once her classes started back up in January. I started searching for options and didn't care for the wireless on-the-go route. I thought $50 a month coupled with a 2 year contact was too expensive and wouldn't even know if it would solve my issue. Then, I started looking at dual band routers and narrowed it down to two, the Belkin N600 and the Netgear N600. Both were made in China and had about the same features. I ended up going with the Belkin because it was on sale for $10 less than the Netgear. I also liked the the slim design and built in stand, whereas the Netgear had a separate stand if you wanted the item to stand vertical instead of laying horizontal. Once home, the installation was extremely easy and I was up and running in less than 10 minutes from start to finish. Upon completion of downloading the latest updates for my wife's laptop, I turned it over to her. She was thrilled and spent the next 3-4 hours on the machine. She never encountered an issue with the connection, and loved being able to access her files and folders from our other desktop computer. The speed at which she was accessing (surfing) the internet was very impressive. We live in a very large house and had no problems with the connection, it performed flawlessly. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase and decision to go with the Belkin. It works exactly as advertised and I sincerely believe it is a great dual band router for the money.

(More customer reviews)The product works as described and had a visible increase in performance both in open areas where I already had "good" reception (went to excellent) and in a poor reception situation where my signal strength was boosted from basically none to 10-20%. The plug for it seems to be a bit loose, but that might just be my wireless device. The Velcro attachment for the antenna works well and is pretty convenient too. Decent cable length for getting this up into the air when necessary as well.

RF AMPLIFER BI-DIRECT Review

(More customer reviews)This amp helped my tv reception and made my modem work faster. The TV stopped pix elating on the weaker TV channels. It also increased the power levels for the modem so the noise to power ratio levels were better and it didn't drop the internet any more.
I am running 6 Comcast cable on demand boxes, and one cable modem (a SB5100 modem)
I am happy with this product and will be buying another one to help one of my friends system out.

Belkin N Wireless Router (F5D8233-4) Review

(More customer reviews)I have two PC's and one mac in my house, and the instant I set up this router the PC's connected to it flawlessly and everything was honky dory comfy cozy, but my macbook had a similar problem as some other people complained about, it would lose connection frequently. After looking online, I only saw a bunch of people complaining about it and never telling anyone how to fix it, well I installed the firmware update (you can find this at belkin.com) and i haven't lost connection since!
So, yeah... If i had only PC's i would have given this router 5 stars due to how easy it is to set up, how strong the signal is, how easy it is to set up a password and etc, but i'm giving it 4 stars simply because i had to install updated firmware to get it to work properly with my mac. In belkin's defense though, it was very easy to update the firmware.

(More customer reviews)I've been waiting a couple years now for a wireless manufacture to "get it" and realize there is a market for a USB wi-fi dongle with a detachable antenna. For all the PC Card versions out there with detachable antenna, it's taken forever for someone to come out with a USB equivalent. Finally, Hawking has, with the HWUG1.
The version I purchased is the Macintosh version (HWUG1A). This comes with a driver from a chip maker called Ralink. Ralink has been doing a public beta with this driver for a few years now, and I was already familiar with it. It's in pretty solid shape now. I guess you could say it's ready for prime time. And now that Ralink are actually getting money for it directly from OEMs like Hawking, MacSense and a couple of others, the driver is likely to be maintained and kept in good condition through OS X upgrades. This is an important consideration because, unlike some other nework interfaces, a wi-fi dongle requires a driver apart from anything that comes with the standard Mac OS X install.
The screw on antenna uses the popular and common SMA connector. Hawking sells several omni-directional and directional antennas that are compatible. I have also attached it to a Cantenna which works very well. But lately my favorite solution is to add a Tritium Flatenna reflector. I like the Flatenna because it packs so flat and slips right into my laptop case with my papers. Ironically, the Flatenna doesn't require a detachable antenna. But I still regard this feature as important.
Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. I wish it had cost a bit less. I have been able to purchase D-Link wi-fi USB dongles, that I was previously using with the Ralink beta driver, for as little as $20. I paid over $50 for the Hawking. Also, the D-Link comes with a nice, weighted USB stand and extension cable. The Hawking does not. But with the included, foldable antenna, there is less need of a remote stand base.

I prefer it to other computer-based internet services that I have. It has most everything most people want in an internet connection: email, newsgroups and web browsing -- and no hastle with computer software and its constant upgrading (you receive periodic free upgrades automatically over the internet). You do have the added monthly expense of a subscription to the WebTV network that serves as your ISP. You need a standard telephone line connection, it can be an extension on your family line -- you probably won't need a new telephone line. Before you buy verify that WebTV offers a local telephone number for your dial-in use so your connection to WebTV won't be a toll call. Note that WebTV uses your telephone to connect to the internet, not through any TV cable service you may have.You will also need a TV with minimally audio and video input sockets. If you are planning to use it for serious email, you will also need a keyboard, either a wireless unit they sell or you can plug a standard computer keyboard into it. With use you may also want to buy a printer adapter and inkjet printer, limited primarily to specific HP printer models.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this last week and hooked it up last night. It worked perfectly for me. Installation was easy and I didn't have to make any adjustments to the settings. I am about 500 ft from the source and it is in a separate concrete building. While I am only able to get about 50% signal strength I think that this is great. I am going through multiple interior walls and two concrete block walls over a distance of 500 ft. With a normal wireless card it couldn't even find a network let alone one strong enough to get a good connection. I also have a friend that lives in a apartment that has WIFI at the clubhouse. She is two buildings away but has a window with a view of the building. She set the receiver in the window and was able to get around 40% signal. Considering that she got nothing before this is good. I would definitely recommend trying this dish.

(More customer reviews)Our SJ30 was still on it's original battery, the original charger connector was falling apart, and we started having problems charging it (orange light lit, but charging indicator on screen not showing as being powered, had to hold it in and jiggle it and press very hard, and usually it would eventually charge up). Eventually the battery itself seemed to no longer be able to hold a charge (no wonder, after over 8 years!) so we bought a replacement battery, but the original charging issues continued.
Bought this cable with the tip for the SJ30 and it worked perfectly. Snug and secure fit, but not too tight, charge light on solid, charge indicator on solid, it recharged with no problem to 100% and behaved perfectly.
Haven't tried it as a sync cable yet, but have no doubt it will work fine. 100% recommended if you're having similar charger connector issues.
Note: you do need a USB power source, either a computer USB port or a stand-alone USB charger, but those are easy to get.
